I’ll never lose heart by wasting false hope, or by practicing wasted faith, if the following thoughts never have enough of an affect to change the thoughts of those exposed. It’s totally against human nature, to accept the truer truth and allow it to alter our main thoughts and beliefs. Some have said, “There is your version, then there’s my version,” (two truths to every story) “and then there’s the real version.” (the real truth). Yet, their willing personal blindness to their own prejudiced individual version of their own little world’s reality certainty always alters that “real truth” to be merely nothing other than their own special version of it (the truth).
It is most likely the greatest continuous repetitive personal sin we can be found guilty of, false pride and haughtiness motivating the excuses we use to power that willing blindness. A drunk will always be a drunk, if you’re a priest first impression denotes you’re always a pedophile, if you’re a cop you’re dirty, and a doctor usually can’t be trusted any more than a politician or a lawyer. It’s our own personal concept or reality that guides us, and it’s usually nothing other than a self motivating whitewashed version if we ever looked at ourselves with as much scrutiny as we did the world.
For some thoughtful examples to contemplate, review some of the following case scenarios we face in our nation.
“DoGooder rally enthusiasts” will take a possibly good purpose and exploit it to selfishly feel important inside themselves, not to change our lives and country for the enhanced goodness as they practice their guise. In some arcane way they feel these self deliberated glorifying actions will hide their own inner faults and inequities they wish to blindly attempt to conceal from the world by pointing out other’s faults and other media bent system failures. They’ll grab the proverbial “soap box” in a heartbeat just to act as if their true purpose is to change our lives for the better, when its underlying method is merely to change it to their own personally justified chaos, ways and means with the same methods of an inner self serving spirit as the very politicians they claim to combat against.
Anti-death penalty rallies fight for the right to life, no matter if you’re guilty as a condemned murderer or not. They don’t open their minds and realize that the death penalty serves its purpose, not just to punish the offender but to enforce a penalty for the sin, the act itself not the person. It doesn’t need to be imposed other than in extreme cases when the question of a person’s innocence is as much without doubt as possible. Even at that, it can be further restricted to the “smoking gun” clause where hardly a doubt at all can be present. Then too they argue that the death penalty (by undisputable studies already performed) does not reduce murder in the Nation. They have missed the point of purpose, that when you take a life you should have to give yours for the act, no argument nor variance. They quarrel that convicting a person to life in prison costs three times less than sentencing them to death and going through the appeals process. I would argue that it cost the state nothing at all for the actual occurrence in which the person was murdered, yet they themselves paid an ultimate price that far outweighs the expense of trial and sentencing.
Texas performs more capital punishment sentences than any other state, and I will not argue the fact that it is possible that sometimes very seldom though most important to justice, someone innocent may be put to death. However, that merely shows that the system fails itself, not that capital punishment is unjust. A suggestion can be made that although a lie detector test cannot be used in courts as evidence, I would question the intelligence of those involved as to why a lie detector is not given prior to sentencing to all inmates found guilty of a capital crime deserving the death penalty, and if passed as to their claim to innocence, then commute the death sentence to life in prison. The United States legal system most likely plays out more time in court room dramas and lengthy appeals than any other nation in the world, and suffers higher crime rates and more costly prison systems than any other government bar a few out there in third world countries. Reforming the legal system to where we still have our rights and therefore put our energy into restructuring the laws that allow lawyers to profit so highly in cases to find you innocent by weight of your gold is far more important than fighting against capital punishment.
Yet simple answers are always answered with complicated questions and simple questions with answers meant to sway and pollute the truth. No one in their right mind would try to claim the above scenario is without merit.
